Laughing at a Funeral

so my grandfather Dejonge finally got approval to check into his room in heaven, aka God's big house. this means last week was full of funeral home and funeral and lots of hanging out. i am not a very good hang out kinda guy, but anyway.
During the hanging out i had lots of time to think, i kept trying to find the proper emotion. weeping did not feel right, sadness did not seem to fit for longer than short moments. The proper emotion was described to me during the service.
Joy,
strange huh, yep it struck me that way as well, but here's what i have realized.

First of all, the hope of Jesus Christ tells us that this life is not all there is, so there is no reason to be sad when it's over. there is so much more waiting for those who accept him as lord and savior
Secondly, we should be happy for the time that we were given with God's gift to us in our grandfather/father/friend

So there you have it folks, feel free to mourn the loss, there is nothing wrong with that, Jesus wept over Laz when he died.
But don't stop there, Laugh, express joy, grab on to the hope of Jesus and party down.
When I die, which we all hope is a long ways away, miss me, but don't be all teary (I'm not good with tears anyway) and somber about it, let it rip, have a live band rocking out at the funeral home, do a smokey burn out, express joy and praise God, i know i will be cause i will be in the best place ever.

Lowes

Have you ever noticed that the credit card readers at Lowe's never work on the first swipe? I was there today and it took about 20 swipes for the card to finally work. often the cashier just types in my number and gives up on the reader.
have you ever noticed that gas pumps work 99% of the time on the first swipe?
I know I am not a rocket scientist, (close though, my top jobs in my skills test were; rocket scientist, garbage man, forklift driver or engineer) but why can't we move everyone to a card reader that works right away, in some places you just have to be close enough to the machine (which makes me nervous that i might pay for some one's groceries just by walking to closely to the wrong side of an isle while getting a Cosmo)
What is Lowe's doing to correct this? I think it is time for them to get with the program and stop wasting America's time with their junk card readers.

My First Time

I'm a little nervous about all of this, I've never blogged before, what if I'm not good at it, what if you don't like it? well, i guess you won't read it then, and the world will end.
Welcome to my blogg, the stuff contained here may or may not be the views of Brad Haan, reading of this has no express or written garuntees to be funny, factually correct, spelled, punctuated or punctuated correctly.
